Honolua Bay - Lipoa Point Advisory Council

Conservation Area

Out on the headland of Lipoa point (known as hobbit land) there is 106 acres in conservation. These were ancient Hawaiian fishing grounds and there are many archeological sites that need to be cleaned and protected. Many people still fish out there today so we need to maintain traditional parking areas and insure continued access. About the only thing the council would like to see out there are hiking and biking trails. There is an existing stewardship program under the guidance of Megan Webster  (mwebster@mlpmaui.com)
