In response to the concerns of the community, Maui Land and Pine has withdrawn all conceptual plans from the General Plan Advisory Committee.
This includes the golf course, the luxury homes, as well as all plans for parks, open space, and cultural uses.
The Honolua Advisory Council is a group of concerned community members who have come together to help secure the future of Honolua and Lipoa. We are dedicated to preserving, revitalizing, and protecting these areas by mediating dialogue and planning between the community and the landowner.

Out on the headland of Lipoa point (known as hobbit land) there is 106 acres in conservation. These were ancient Hawaiian fishing grounds and there are many archeological sites that need to be cleaned and protected.
